Moving your audience from being friendly observers to emotionally engaged supporters is key when you’re investing your time and effort in developing your message and your presentation delivery.
Each speaker's needs are different and may show up as any multitude of concerns:
- Where do I start?
- Why am I so afraid? I’ve agreed to speak, and now I’m, well, CRAP!
- I know my content but who am I to be speaking? Hello imposter syndrome!
- It’s an awesome opportunity and I don’t want to stuff it up 'Now thinking about a previous failure.'
- I want to make sure my presentation is unforgettable… hmm... I'm unsure how to do that.
- I’m OK at presenting and I’ve got a plan, but OK is NOT going to cut it for this talk! How do I level up?
- I want it to be informative and helpful and it would be amazing if it opened the doors to something big!
- I want it to be interactive, but how do I do that successfully? What if they don't want to play?!
- My topic is important and relevant, but won’t necessarily put people on the edge of their seat... How can I make my presentation rock or at least be thought-provoking?!
As a speaker's coach I support you to feel confident to step up, stand out and ignite your audience.
Lisa shares what she loves about coaching women to Voice their Wisdom and why she is a powerful public speaking coach, mentor and guide to women ready to embrace their inner-charm and be their full capacity as a speaker!
It's a Discovery process
The process begins well before we meet with your decision to speak something important. There’s magic in the sharing of your why, your vision, your research or mission, and a natural honouring of your brilliance as your message emerges much like a bud that gradually appears above the muddy water line, slowly to open to its fully beauty, like a lotus, resplendent, magnificent.
First appearances are rarely what they seem. Together we explore the depths of your experience (your roots), knowledge or ideas and what your work or your dedication means for others or for their way of being in the world. From this exploration, your real message is revealed.
Co-Design Creation
Often, the speaker is unclear about what to say, how much to say, and when to say those things. Far beyond a beginning, middle and end, is a liminal space, often traversed together in the co-design of the presentation, identifying its purposes, elements, stories, assertions and, of course, its powerful call to action.
What goes into the presentation must engage the hearts and minds of the audience if it is to powerfully influence others. If it will not, then it simply must not be part of the design.
Delivering with Impact
There are so many ways to express yourself and yet, there will be one way that feels genuine, trusted and fully owned by you. Finding that best way is a collaborative process that seeks to represent yourself powerfully and unapologetically.
Delivering with impact starts with a well-crafted speech, and, expands on your speaking strengths and is further enhanced by tapping into new ways of delivering the message through movement, audio and visual effects – created by you and the audience.
Impact is determined in the discovery session, embedded in the design and brought to life here in the delivery. It’s also key when thinking about adopting a mindset that supports you to powerfully present your message. For the woman who under-estimates how much impact she can have, then she’ll do well to remember this quote from Anita Roddick (1942-2007) Founder of The Body Shop. “If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito.”
Discerning Mind
What happens for a woman when she is invited to speak? Or when she finds an opportunity to share her story? She says 'YES'! and, then? Her mind goes racing ahead of her with all the 'what if's... (disaster stories)', and 'this is going to be...(hardships & pains)', not to mention all the rememberings of times gone by 'when I, um...' (failed?!@#!)
Speaking with confidence has something to do with knowing what to say and how to say it. Mostly, though, it's about what you're saying to yourself and the beliefs you hold about ourself in sharing your real self with others. Adopting a discerning mindset is critical for your success and if you feel unsure, nervous or anxious, you may well be mind-strung. Regaining control of your thoughts and emotions will see your vision come to life with ease and grace.
We recommend you let go of 'pushing through the discomfort', and partner with Lisa to create a more easeful, enjoyable and effervescent experience in delivering your message to the world.

"I knew I really needed to step up and gain the confidence to present at conferences but found it really challenging and actually really scary! I know my stuff and I am so proud of the work I do but fear and self doubt have held me back. I put my trust in you and you were with me every step of the way. I'm pretty chuffed that I presented and I felt prepared, in control and confident...and the MC said it was the best presentation! It's amazing what's possible. Thanks so much Lisa for helping me find my voice."
